I specialise in writing copy and content for mission-led coaches, consultants, strategists and small business owners.
Here’s a little bit more about me..
Based in Stamford, Lincs (UK), FH Copywriting was born out of a life-long love for words. For as long as I can remember, I've been writing things for the people in my world (becoming known as somewhat of a word nerd).
It started out as stories when I was a child, and evolved into essays, emails, brochures, websites, marketing materials and more as I grew up and entered the working world as an eager university student and self-employed virtual assistant.
My aim is to help you say what you want to say, when you want to say it - in an ethical way that sounds just like you.
Words are so important - I often think of them as the bridge between you and your potential clients. Without them, you can't connect with your audience, showcase what you do effectively and really show people the true value.
But finding the right words isn't necessarily an easy task. More often than not, you know what you mean in your head, but when it comes to getting words down on paper, you get stuck. Why do you think one of the most common uses for tools like ChatGPT is writing copy and content?
Not only does it help you figure out what you're trying to say but it also saves you hours of time. The problem is - AI can only get you so far. Sure, it's great for brainstorming and sparking ideas, but it can't replace you as the human and expert in what you do.
Too many experts are now letting AI talk for them - and this is a fundamental mistake. Your authentic voice needs to be heard. That's the only way you'll differentiate yourself and connect with your target audience (which are both KEY to the success of your business).
So yes, there's not much harm in using tools to brainstorm and spark ideas - but remember, you're the expert. Nobody knows your subject like you (nor do they understand your target audience as well as you). So you, your voice and your expertise must drive the creative process.
Remember: you don't want to simply blend in and be forgettable - you want to stand out so you can increase your reach and have more of an impact.
This is the approach I use to write your copy and content.
Before I was a Writer, I spent 11 years as a self-employed Virtual Assistant. It suited me and my lifestyle quite well. It enabled me to work around my University degrees and then, when I became a Mum in 2018 (and again in 2020), I could work flexibly, on a part-time basis, around my children.
My role? A bit of everything! I was essentially helping my clients with the day-to-day running of their businesses - from Admin, Bookkeeping, Copywriting, Marketing (& everything else in between... including lots of spreadsheets). I was basically that person constantly being asked "can you just...?"
Here's an overview of some of the projects I've been involved with over the years (in addition to general, day-to-day admin support):
I've put an image gallery below to show you some of the projects I've worked on

A major benefit of this work was I picked up loads of skills, meaning that I can help clients with other things in addition to the writing - like design and the tech side.
However, in 2023 I got fed up. We'd been through some tough times as a family and it made me realise how short life is. I just wanted to be a writer! So I took the leap and decided to specialise. Stuff it - I had nothing to lose. The projects I'd been working on had finished so it was a good time because nothing else major was lined up.
Now, if there's one thing you should know about me, I really like doing things properly. I'm not great at 'winging it' - I wanted some proper training before I started doing paid work and calling myself an expert.
So I started searching and eventually enrolled in a 6 month training program (run by a lovely human and successful copywriter). It was a self-paced program which suited me (I'm an academic at heart - studying is one of my happy places).
The approach perfectly aligned with me:
I was sold. This was exactly what I wanted.
People who know me will tell you that one of my highest values is integrity. I really can't stand it when people are manipulated or mis-sold - it really gets my goat.
You really don't need to manipulate people to sell to them. You just need to really understand them and deliver genuinely valuable solutions they really want and need.
This is why your mission, vision and ideal client (target audience) are so key - not just to your marketing, but to your business at a whole. Because they drive the products and services (i.e. solutions) you create. You create them for a specific group of people so you can provide them with exactly what they want and need.
No manipulation needed - just words that effectively communicate the genuine value that your offer provides them with. And as of April 2024 (when I finished the training program) I'd learnt how to do that. I was officially a copywriter. Happy Days!
Now - was my progress fast? Nope. Why? Because life happens. I'm the default parent, working from home, still doing some admin for a couple of clients to keep afloat. I also couldn't afford additional childcare so had to get as much done as I could between school hours. So progress was slow.
But small progress is still progress and in the last year I've:
If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s this: I’m a detail-oriented person.
That's one of the reasons I'm very often involved in other things relating to the project, like strategy, planning, design or tech.
Not just because I have the skills, but also because clients often need a second pair of eyes and it really helps having someone so detail oriented onboard.
Clients can rest assured that they've got someone looking over their shoulder, spotting things they otherwise might not have noticed or pointing things out they may not have considered.
Plus, from a project management perspective, a benefit of working with me is that you get design and tech support included in the package.
You don't need to work with multiple people to get the job done.
For example, I'll not only write your website copy for you but I'll also upload it to your website for you.
I want my clients to feel reassured that when they hand a project over to me, it's in good hands and they're going to get all the support they need from beginning to end.
I'm not going to ghost them, cut corners or compromise on quality.
I also want them to have peace of mind that they're working with someone who understands their business, mission and brand voice in great depth and is going to work with them very closely to make sure it's right.
That's why I have an in-depth onboarding process (involving a consultation lasting approximately 60-90 mins).
This helps me really get to know you, your business, your mission and brand voice in great depth so I can write words that capture attention, resonate and - importantly - sound like you.
Quality is really important to me so, if you’re worried, please rest assured: it’s not done until you’re happy with it.
